Editors' note : The Sony N series is available at Sony stores from today. The Sony VAIO VGN-N17G has a white chassis with a Core Duo processor going for S$1,799 (US$1,264.41), making it one of the more affordable machines from the Japanese manufacturer. |
The latest lineup from Sony--the N series--has a color scheme which is neither funky nor boring. Blending in nicely with your furniture, just be careful you do not accidentally put your coffee on top of it.
According to the Japanese vendor, the color schemes for the VAIO N notebooks were intentionally chosen to blend in with your home decor. The most interesting shade is Wenge Brown, which Sony describes as "a creamy, coffee color made to resemble wood furniture". Though details are not available, we should expect these systems to be based on Intel's Centrino Core Duo platform with a 15.4-inch display. With a suggested starting price of US$1,000 (S$1,575.65), it may be cheaper to stick some legs at the bottom and use it as a funky computer/accent table fixture. It would certainly provide more fun and games than your Micheangelo coffee table.
