After months of thespian Gary Oldman teasing TV viewers with commercials that promise to turn them into instant directors, or stars
(all the world's a stage), Nokia has at last turned the page on the "Next Story in Video". Its camcorder-capable
N93 is finally out in mobile phone outlets, starting Saturday, and comes at a slightly lower-than-expected price tab of S$1,388 without plan.
The N93 doesn't pretend to be a high-end video-recording instrument. But it does empower the users to spontaneously shoot moving images, thanks to its 3.2-megapixel sensor with Carl Zeiss optics, DVD-like video capture at 30fps, 3x optical zoom, video stabilization, and expandable miniSD slot supplemented by 50MB internal memory. At the end of it, the N93 can be plugged into a high-definition display for playback.
There's more action from the Finnish giant, but this time it's one for the active crowd. The rigorous
5500 Sport phone will also hit retail shelves at the same time as the N93, at a street price of S$638 without contract.
Gym rats should like the handset's Sports mode. Through integrated pedometer features, these help monitor the distance walked or calories burnt whether it's a walkabout or workout.
