Alienware debuts two SLI laptops

Alienware, the PC company
made
famous for its high-end gaming systems with almost insane performance,
has announced two new notebooks that are set to revolutionalize the
mobile gaming scene. Powered by top-of-the-line Nvidia GeForce
Go
7900 GTX graphics cards, the 17-inch Aurora
m9700 and monster 19-inch
Aurora
mALX are based on AMD Turion processors.
Both
systems come with relatively few USB
and connectivity ports for their size, though you may be able
to
get sets with integrated Airgo MIMO wireless in June (current retail
units come with the standard 802.11b/g Wi-Fi radio). The mALX also
comes bundled with the superior PCMCIA Creative Sound
Blaster Audigy 2 ZS sound card. The Aurora m9700 and Aurora
mALX are available now for US$1,999 (S$3,119.94) and US$4,499
(S$7,021.81), respectively.
Unfortunately, these systems are available only in the US and there is
no
news of Alienware machines coming to this region.
By
the way, we are using the term mobile computing loosely with these
Alienware PCs. The m9700, possible the first SLI system with a
17-inch display (previous SLI notebooks were 19-inch monsters), is
barely portable at a hefty 3.86kg. As for the 19-inch mALX, there is a
reason a backpack is part of the standard bundle. At 6.8kg,
walking
between LAN party locations may just be what makes your chiropractor
chuckle with glee.

A dollhouse on wheels? This very compact campervan may just be the closest thing, though it gets away with looking cool enough to turn cubicle Dilberts into converts of the Great Outdoors. What's more, this motorhome sports an @ in its name which simply calls out to our inner geek. Too bad camping isn't the done thing in Asia. But just for larks, the T@B is lightweight enough to hook to the back of any car, yet large enough to feel like your own movable room. Now that's global roaming in style.

Ready to shake your booty? Well, if you're looking for alternatives to doing that thang on the iGallop, check out the Hula Chair which, well, hulas. Just park your behind on the circular seat, select one of the nine gyrating speeds from the armrest controller, and it's time to rumba your lumbar. There're even obverse and reverse directions within the confines of the chair. Hopefully, it's one size fits all butts.

Motorola L6 goes pretty in pink

It started with the RAZR V3, followed by the RAZR V3x and more recently, the PEBL. Now even the L6 is available in pink. According to Motorola's press announcement, it will be called the L6 Bubblegum Pink. The new candy-bar handset will be available in Singapore at an estimated price of S$288 (US$189.47) without operator contract.
First launched in Nov 2005, the Motorola L6 is currently one of the slimmest mobile phones in the market, measuring just 10.9mm thick. As a lower-end version of the SLVR L7, it features triband GSM support, Bluetooth, VGA camera as well as video capture and playback.
Sony PlayStation 3 pricing unveiled

All right folks, the Japanese have finally lifted the shroud of secrecy over the launch details for its next-generation console with an announcement from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. The long-awaited PlayStation 3 will be making its debut throughout mainland Europe and Australasia on November 17, 2006. Two models are expected on shelves: A 20GB hard drive-enabled version at €499 and its 60GB equivalent at €100 more.
Both models will ship with a built-in Blu-ray drive and a whole skew of advance features sorely omitted by the competition, such as a high-bandwidth Gigabyte networking, one-cable digital HDMI output and 1080p-compatibility.
Other nice touches include operating heat and noise suppression, a refined controller based on the tried-and-tested PS2 design and Super Audio CD playback support.
