Ferrari-inspired LCD

With only 1,000 units made for each model, Acer Japan will be releasing the limited-edition F-19 and F-20 Ferrari LCD in late November, though the exact details are not confirmed yet. Like the Acer Ferrari notebook, this monitor uses the trademark black-and-red theme for the sports car look.

The F-19 has a 19-inch display while the F-20's is a 20-inch. Connectivity options are common to both, which include the standard VGA port, DVI, component and S-video inputs. Equipped with built-in speakers, don't expect to carry this to your LAN party as the duo weigh a hefty 7.1kg and 6.8kg, respectively.

It's understandable that parents spoil their kids especially during year-end holiday seasons. But this locket digicam is something which you should really think twice before forking out the money. Disney has released a new line of consumer products in time to make it to the wish list of the young worldwide. This princess 2-in-1 locket digital camera is capable of taking VGA-quality photographs and can hold up to 100 images internally.

However, if you take a closer look at the warning label, the pink shooter contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, or birth defects, or other reproductive harm. Not that the kids are going to reproduce any time soon, but cancer-causing effects should really be taken into account if you intend to buy this for your child.

World's smallest projector

Ready for a movie projector in your phone? You'll just have to be patient for about five years. By then, Finland's Upstream Engineering will have gotten its LED projection system down pat such that it can squeeze a projector into any handheld device cheaply. If you're not too fussy about the brightness and clarity, this concept could mean liberating images and videos from your cell phone or device onto any blank wall. Just think. Soon, you won't have to bribe your friends over with a homecooked meal just to get them to view your family vacation pictures or stacks of baby videos on the home projector.

Fancy a vase with a difference? You'll have to wait just a little longer as designer Pierre Foulonneau's multi-leveled vase is still in production. Recently exhibited under the theme "Model Ideas" at the Milan Furniture Fair, it's a container that's almost organic in concept as you can twist, add or subtract piece by piece for a shape that constantly interacts and expresses.

Unlike my aunts who like their nest eggs within arms reach... in a cookie tin under the bed, sound slumber to me is knowing that there isn't a hacker sniggering at my bank balance via a certain rootkit right now.
