Here's another ball-shaped fire extinguisher you lob into a fire like a hand grenade. Dropping the conventional nozzle form factor, this device resembles an innocuous hand ball. That is until it comes into contact with fire, which is when explodes--within 3 seconds--in a shower of fire-retardant powder and foam that dampens the flames, while letting out a 138-decibel shriek to alert the household. Additional balls can be hurled to suppress a large fire if needed, though at S$75 a pop, you might want to aim properly before letting fly. Practice should make perfect as you get family members to pitch bowling balls into a trash bin from a distance.
