Sony Ericsson "Walkman" W600

Juniper Foo  |  Jun 14, 2005

While the rest of Asia will be looking forward to the Walkman-labeled W800i in Q3, our North American neighbors will be getting the W600 in Q4. This newer sibling sports the same metallic orange outfit and features, but bears far more resemblance to its swivel playmate, the S600i, which the global media had an eyeful of on Monday's press launch in Singapore. Too bad the W600 (correction: it's W600, not W800) won't be getting an expansion slot.

Looks wise, this is way better than the w800. Hmm I wonder if the marketing people, the board at sony ericsson and industrial design dudes made a mistake...

A dog with different fleas - big, clunky looking, 1.3 camera instead of 2.0, and no expansion slot. Once again us poor saps in the US get an updated 2 year old model (an S700i with a paint job and an ugly handle) that the network operators can then disable. The W800 with 2.0 camera and up to a gig of expansion is far superior especially if you want to load up music for a long plane ride. If you're in the US, get a GSM service provider and then a K750i direct from Sony Ericsson - 2.0 camera and an expansion slot and OEM unlocked so everything works!

I got this phone last week and after putting in more and more songs into the memory card, the phone start to halt and I to reset the phone. But when I took out the memory card, it operate back normally again. I realised that the memory card is not Sony, it is label as Sandisk Memory Stick. I think the phone is great but card problem only.
