In a galaxy not so far away (try earth), where crazy fan boys are willing to cough out hard-earned lucre to own a piece of Star Wars or parade amidst saner fellowmen as Sith Lords or Storm Troopers, the Force FX Lightsaber is one collectible that's guaranteed to bring out the Jedi in anyone. That said, this isn't for dueling purposes. Nor is it a toy. The sticker price alone should cue you in to that. Having said that, these licensed replicas need more than the Force to activate them, like a fresh set of batteries.
On the Light Side, Anakin Skywalker's saber is a Blue Blade from Revenge of the Sith. For those who've turned to the Dark Side, check out Darth Vader's Red Blade from Empire Strikes Back. Or see both blades lighted up

in response to your question of the blade removal. no they are not designed to be removed. however i have recently figured out how to safely remove all of the electronics, which the blade is also attached, leaving only the handle. this procedure is reversable too, bringing your force fx lightsaber back to perfect operating condition.

I have a Master Replica Anakin Light Saber (old EL model I think, 2002?) and I'm trying to diassemble it to remove the blade but I'm afraid of damaging it. Absolutely. But be careful. Striking it very hard in the middle of the blade could snap it directly in half. (not a pretty site, with the sparking and flashing)
My employer at GameStop had a difficult time snapping one. He had to strike a beam with all his strength to shatter it.
Also, dueling will cause some miner white marks on the blade.

The saber is a little bit bigger than your average due to the 3 AA batteries that need to be inserted at the bottom of the hilt
The sounds are great and the lightshow is good as well

man its off da chain! the noise and the cool look. i just got my sexy darth vader fx and man, all of ya need one. the price is worth it and its realy stylish forget about the not being able ta duel. itd be a waste of mony to just swing lightly and gracefully like a ballarina, i duel with my bro a million times a day(who has an anakin skywalker fx) and we can hit really really really really really hard sometimes and we get no scratches, dents, or cracks. this is a must-have collectible for playa hata star wars peeps, regular fans, and of coarse ya can't forget the die hard fans.

The "Fun Factor" was so high I bought the Vader and the Windu sabers today and I plan on taking my friend on in a two-saber-per-person duel. Taking these bad boys outside at night is the only to go. One more thing, has anyone seen the Windu sabers work? Are they as cool as the other two? I'm just throwing that out because I already bought it of course.

Hey JediMaster, they both are extremely cool and worth the money, TRUST ME, but in the end it depends on the one you're really into. I knew I wanted two from the beginning but I didn't know which two I wanted, so I did some research and eventually decided which two were my favorite and had better ratings. Hey JediMaster, they both are extremely cool and worth the money, TRUST ME, but in the end it depends on the one you're really into. I knew I wanted two from the beginning but I didn't know which two I wanted, so I did some research and eventually decided which two were my favorite and had better ratings. I have read that the reason the windu saber is not purple is that they combined red and blue LEDs into it because purple LEDs don't exist. Well they do exist! I found them on ebay and other sites! Hey Quayle, the luke saber is a GEN II saber while the anakin EP III is a GEN III saber, so overall, the anakin will probably be a better choice.

if u want a saber on the cheap u suled check out www.high-techmagic.com/Lightsabers.html they only have the vader anakin saber but u get it in green blue red and purple you can also get a kit to build your own and save money plus the blades can be screwed off and u can just carry the hilt with the blade hidden may the force be with u

I have been spending alot of time on the fx-sabers forum. Chatting with those guys is the best way to learn things, just becareful what you say or ask, they get mad if they don't think it is important stuff. But I think there will be a yoda lightsaber, but for next year possibly.

my dad worked for pepsi and did some projects for starwars during the production of the first movies (4,5,6) so i showed him these lightsabers one night and he went nutz....he currently has all of the life size figures of starwars...and many scaled models of ships and machines...so you could imagine how excited he was....he bought 2 annikans...and a vader and a windu...i for one am psyched about the nwhole thing...and cant wait for them to come...and to clear one thing up....the blade is made out of a durable polycarbonate plastic....that WILL NOT BREAK....MKAY?!

I have the Mace and Vader EP5 on order, I have recently built a shelf to hold my sabers and any others I order. And if you hit someone in the leg really hard, what will happen is that they will hate you from now on, you might break the saber, or nothing will happen except for a clash sound.

i have both.....they rock...but i heard that there is a Maul FX out now that it sold as a half...you have to buy 2 to clip them together and have a 7 Foot long fx....i think that supercedes all other fx sabres......a 7 foot sabre....all bow down, NOW!

I think it is just a situation that FX might have had some bad solder or the soldering process needs to be corrected. Just thought I would let you guys know that are concerned about the Anakin lightsabers having that flickering problem. If you know someone that can disassemble and solder you can fix the problem and then you will have another excellent lightsaber for your collection.

Check out the custom saber shop, google it, I can't remember the exact URL. They sell conversion kits. They also have tons of tutorials on dissasembling lightsabers and such.
