Chang is a notebook expert who occasionally dabbles in
smaller mobile devices.
Whenever I go shopping with girls, one of
the first places I look for is a bench... or what I like to call the
"men's corner". For some strange reason, picking undergarments or being asked which
dress is nicer just doesn't garner my interest. It is times like this
that I wish departmental stores would create a real "men's corner" with
a TV and even Internet connection for hapless boyfriends and husbands.
For
those of us who still remember Kyocera phones, the Korean company used
to retail its mobiles some years back in Singapore. However, the lack of notable
features or design saw these peter out in the local market. Kyocera was
regarded as just another mobile player without a significant product.
At CommunicAsia, the company showcased several phones
which may make your mouth water. Most notable is the W42K, a handset
which not only includes a reasonable 1.3-megapixel camera and music
player, but also an analog TV tuner for watching your favorite programs
even if you are out of the house. Along with a miniSD expansion slot,
bored men everywhere can have their own home entertainment system right
in their pockets. Too bad it's available only on CDMA2000 networks.
