Rerun last night's match on your mobile

About the writer
Edvarcl Heng usually writes about things both mobile and fun.

If there's one thing I hate about the World Cup season, it's missing a fantastic match. Come on, who'd think Ghana (FIFA-ranked 48th) would have the gall to beat Czech Republic (FIFA-ranked 2nd) 2-0? It's mathematically impossible, but on June 17, the African nation did just that. And I had to pick that night of all nights to shoot pool with the pals instead.

Record them all

If I had the i.Tech Mobile Digital Video Recorder (mDVR), I wouldn't have had to beat my head against the wall while my colleagues regaled me with the succulent details of Ghana's two goals. The mDVR works by seating itself between the video source and your television, and records programs directly onto a memory card. You preset it for the 3am match, catch some zees, and pop the SD card into your mobile phone first thing in the morning. World Cup reruns on your Nokia? Easy.

Tech specs:

  • Supports PAL and NTSC systems; video input (detects automatically) and video output (user selectable)
  • Supports memory card with capacity of up to 2GB
  • Supports MMC, RS-MMC, SD, miniSD and microSD
  • Supports 3GP file format: H263 for video and AMR-NB for audio
  • Preset timer for up to 100 programs
