I call it a conflict of interest. My managing editor (who's a woman) thinks it's a frivolous affliction. The FIFA World Cup versus CommunicAsia 2006? She says it's a no brainer. I agree. What could possibly be more important than catching the most beautiful game at top level? Asia's largest infocomm tradeshow should be satisfied with its second-place finish in my books.
With Netherlands clashing with Argentina on June 21 and desperate Czech Republic hoping to snatch three points from Italy on the 22nd, I surmise that there's bound to be more than a few panda-eyed journalists roaming the showfloor. For the soccer mad tech reporter, the i.Tech Clip III 2006 limited-edition Bluetooth headset seems to have picked the perfect time to make an appearance at the show.
Styled after the original Clip, each headset is colored in World Cup country colors. It's gaudy, bound to get you a free beer from the pals and, when the World Cup fervor is over, they may think you are suffering from high fever.
Tech specs:
- Bluetooth v1.2 Class 2
- Bluetooth Headset & Handsfree profiles
- Incoming call alert buzzer
- Mute function
- Talk Time: Up to 10 hours
- Standby Time: Up to 200 hours
