Japan's use and misuse of new iPod nano camera

It has only been two weeks since Apple released their new fifth-generation iPod nano with video capture capabilities. And in that short time we've already seen some examples coming out of Japan--both awesome and awful--of how this tiny camera might be used.

First, the awesome:

Test drive nano's camera... With a Ferrari 430 Spider!

Courtesy of Hideki Francis Onda comes the best demo of the iPod's camera that I've seen to date. The iPod was taped to the front bumper of a Ferrari, and the resulting video (taken at Fuji Speedway) is below. Keep an eye out for the spinning Porsche at the 2:45 mark.

And now, the awful:

Attach the iPod nano to your shoe, shoot upskirt videos, then get arrested

I told you it was awful. But this is exactly what happened to some dude in Kobe, who after fitting his shoe with the new 5th gen iPod, targeted an 18-year-old girl in a bookshop and sidled up next to her so as to check out her iDrawers. The man was subsequently reported, and arrested by local police.

Word on the street is that he has been given a Sony Walkman as punishment (I kid, I kid...).

Nice video. That's one spider that I definitely wouldn't mind seeing in the garage.
