Toshiba set to launch stainless steel HDTV for your kitchen

I'm looking forward to the day when more complex computer displays and interfaces make it into my kitchen. But I still think that day is a long way off. Nonetheless Toshiba looks to be eager to move in that direction as it is set to launch this stainless steel 18.5-inch HDTV this fall, modeled to match the decor in today's common kitchens.

The Toshiba 19LV612U (couldn't they have just called it a Delorean?!) comes with a built-in DVD player and integrated TV tuner, as well as Vesa mount support. Stainless steel will certainly be easy to clean, and that's a priority for any TV that lives in the kitchen.

As for me, until they manage to integrate a TV into my fridge door, complete with vital stats on aging vegetables and a beer thermometer,
I'll just have to pass.

I think the worst of American culture is invading the rest of the world. How brainless can someone be if they want to watch TV constantly even in the kitchen? Buying things just to own them even if they serve no real purpose is bad enough but buying just to buy even when the thing we buy is bad for us is brainless.

Why have a TV in the kitchen or bathroom? Don't we have better things to do in these rooms?

Something about my above post has bothered me....I want to include myself as one of the brainless people.

I have over a million U.S. dollars in watches. I love watches and I love the art behind Swiss watch making but my watch collection is really useless. I have sold a few watches and given the money to charity. I will sell all the others and use the money to pay the University studies of some students I know. I have been so stupid to spend so much money on watches when there are people who don't have enough to eat.

I wasn't targeting anyone in my first post and certainly not Mr. Martin.
