Canon letting loose virtual dinosaurs

In a recent post I mentioned how the virtual/augmented reality scene in Japan has been especially active of late. It seems that trend will continue with Canon's latest VR venture, a virtual reality dinosaur exhibit due to open in Chiba next week.

While I haven't had the privilege of previewing Canon's virtual dinosaurs, word on the street is that they (like other Canon employees in Japan) will not be permitted to sit down or walk slowly during the course of their work day.

Poor triceratops...

This two-week exhibition is sure to be a big hit among the kids. But it would be an especially worthwhile endeavor if children could view the dinosaurs online all year round, possibly in some kind of Open Sim environment or something. That would certainly beat the heck out of a textbook!
