Sexy Asus touchscreen software

According to Akihabara News, Asus Japan has just announced the future launch of this sexy little bad-boy desktop, the Eee Top 1602. While the hardware specs look pretty Netbookish, it is a cute little form factor that almost resembles a shrunken iMac at first glance. Drop on over to Akihabara News for more pictures and detailed specs.

On a bit of a side now, I had the pleasure of briefly meeting the man behind Akihabara News, Gonzague-Alexandre Gay, at the recent Tokyo CGM night. For those of you who don't get your fill of hardware news here on CNET Asia, I encourage you to head on over to Akihabara News for a nice dessert. It's a truly awesome site.

As for the new Asus touchscreen desktop, I'm looking forward to getting my hands on one if for no other reason than to use it as my iKnow Japanese study computer. Check out the video demo below of the cool new touchscreen software. Is it just me, or is everybody developing dock-like interfaces these days?

Anyway, keep in mind that this is obviously not the 1602 desktop, but rather an Eee PC T91, due in Q2 of 2009.
