Originally "Made in Indonesia" for Indonesians and to address the limited IP and Internet infrastructure within the country, Indline is still developing but has migrated over the years into a world-class application with the majority of its users located in Europe, the Americas, Africa and Australia.

Indline (PT. Indonesia Lintas Net), owned and operated by Indonesians, is a multimedia software application development company established and maintaining its headquarters in Jakarta, Indonesia, and founded in 2000.

Youk Tanzil, Indline's president, said the company’s focus from 2000 to 2006 has been the development of multimedia convergent voice and video technology for worldwide distribution. In 2007, Indline will enter the infrastructure, IP and bandwidth market in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

He disappeared for a few years from the country's industry arena, but finally came back to the industry and focused on the Internet's multimedia arena. The idea of social networking and Web 2.0 will shape the future of this industry," he said.

Tanzil is one of a few prominent multimedia icons in the country. Graduated from the prestigious Ecole Boule in Paris, France, as a multimedia entrepreneur in Indonesia, Youk has successfully created one of the largest media production companies in the country, producing thousands of hours of TV and documentary programs. In partnership with Indosat, he invested within a multimedia holding company, creating terresterial TV, satellite TV, cable TV and direct broadcasting satellite as subsidiaries. As a patron of the Indonesian Arts, he designed, built and operated the first and only Opera House in Jakarta.

I met him recently in his large and convenient office building in Ragunan area, Jakarta. I am personally delighted with this development as Indonesian business community has a figure to speak and offer a worldwide-effect software. This company appears to challenge the big boys which offer similar products and services.

He told me that his company will launch this software globally soon this month. "We're ready to compete with the giants," he said with a smile.

"Indline's corporate motto is 'Talk to The World'. 'See The World,'" said Tanzil. "We initially developed this product to specifically address Indonesia's poor communications infrastructure and the very limited dial-up access that the country's users had to the Internet."

"What this means," iterated Tanzil, "was that we had to create very light and compressed applications that could enable the delivery of traditionally 'heavy' video and voice programs using dial-up, narrow bandwidth of less than 28kbps."

Tanzil and his team then began aggressively developing their own "all-in-one application" comprising multimedia, email, video, voice and, "believe it or not, our own word processing and financial spreadsheet programs".

"Now, we find that Indline has not only became a rival product that exceeds the features and functionalities of some of the global giants, but that our compression technology and range of products and services are beginning to make Indline the multimedia product of choice around the world."

The application's low cost and its compression technology are key features of Indline, but the real value that addresses the current needs of the multimedia Internet market is its new enhanced products and services.

Users may access any or all of Indline's all-in-one application whether that is email embedded with video, voice or music, real-time video-conferencing with up to nine simultaneous camera views, within a chat room filled with more than 200 users.
