A complete teardown of the iPhone 3G S

The iPhone 3G S has certainly created a lot of buzz recently. While it's interesting to see which features get people talking, I tend to gravitate toward blogs featuring that special breed of geek getting down to the nitty-gritty: ripping apart a new gadget for a first peek at what the manufacturer has stored under the hood.

The team over at iFixIt.com shows a step-by-step teardown of the bits and pieces that make up the iPhone 3G S.

Wired points out that that while the processor is rated to run at 833MHz, out-of-the-box, the speed is set at 667MHz to preserve battery life.

For a deeper look into the separate components of the hardware, check out this article over at phoneWreck. It has also provided a great block diagram that lists several of the major component suppliers for the iPhone 3G S.

In other Apple news, albeit a little less flashy, Taiwan's Quanta gains back Apple MacBook orders.

Now, if only I could find a way to get one of those models that "fell off the truck"...

ShiningStar says...
I was wondering, if the Iphone 3GS CPU same as the Ipod 2G?
