RAmos Android tablet on video, iPhone amnesty, and Sciphone launch

RAmos W7, iPhone, and Sciphone N19

The Android-running RAmos W7 tablet has been captured on video for the first time. It's still a prototype, but it's good to see the Android looking crisp on the 4.8-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen display. The "Rockchip" moniker on the wallpaper refers to the Chinese company that produces the 600MHz processor which powers the W7. Here's the (silent) video hands-on:

iPhone amnesty
Apple's iPhone gets its official launch in mainland China this week (on October 30), and the iPhone's exclusive carrier here, China Unicom, has announced an "amnesty" for the estimated 1.5 million gray import iPhone users who bought the device unlocked from Hong Kong (or some other alternative channel) long before the much, much-delayed proper launch.

Sciphone N19

The amnesty is an offer for all those unlocked iPhone owners to get the official China Unicom 3G package on their current phones (as I covered the other week here on Sinobytes), and to presumably leave the dark gray side and come over to the light of Unicom's "Wo" portal.

Siphone Android double launch
Chinese manufacturer Siphone has just released two Android phones, the N19 and N21, which can be found this week at gadget malls across China.

The N19 (pictured right) is the thinner and less powerful of the newcomers. The N21 (pictured in the image at the top of the page, to the right of the iPhone) looks more solid and classy, and also boasts a much better camera (5 megapixels), more processing power, and Wi-Fi.

That W7 will be 1,299 yuan (that's US$190) for the 8GB version, and 1,599 yuan (US$234) for the 16GB. Both of those are 'flash'-drives, like the iPod Touch.
