The search for the perfect e-commerce hosting service
Oct 13, 2009 09:43I have been using Bizhosting as my e-commerce hosting service for the last seven years, and I am moving on to a new host for my online business.
When I first built my online store, I literally hardcoded my shopping cart by modifying free Javascript shopping cart codes I found online 10 years ago. I am not a programmer. I was trained as a graphics designer before I stumbled on cell animation, which led me to Web design.
Anyway, back to the search for the perfect e-commerce hosting service. So why am I leaving Bizhosting? The reason is that I have not seen any improvement to the e-commerce platform and its customer service has declined over the years. The system is as it was seven years ago when I first started using it. Maybe the folks at Mysite.com have been too busy creating other platforms, or they have gotten complacent since Bizhosting is pretty much a standard e-commerce platform that they don't see any need to improve on or upgrade for a better customer experience.
Hence, I will be ceasing my Web-hosting package with Bizhosting once I've found which e-commerce platform I'll be transferring my Web business to. In the meantime, I have been conducting my own research and testing out the free trials of several e-commerce services. One such platform that has been highly recommended by my friends is Magento.
I will let you know in a few weeks' time if I will be transferring my e-retail to Magento or to another e-commmerce hosting platform.

Hi Suzanna,
You should definitely checkout Magento (magentocommerce.com).
We have a demo up at magento.harapartners.com, which allows you to check out the admin panel and all.
Please let me know if we can be of any help with Magento. We offer some premium e-commerce hosting in the US here: www.harapartners.com...
We can also offer Beijing based hosting.
I'd love to hear where your exploration takes you.
Cheers,
Mai
