Setting up an online mall with open source

Open source is such a hit now that everyone is using it to build all kind of Web sites. But finding the right open source that can help you create a great ecommerce site is not easy.

I have, however, been told that Drupal is a great open source software for building an ecommerce or even your own community-based portal. Sites like www.Wefew.net and www.asmp.org uses Drupal.

But what's so great about Drupal is that it also has a localization feature that allows the developer to contribute to the translation server and let others utilize the translated languages for their site.

Like all open source software, Drupal depends on its community of developers to improve it. Bugs and feature requests are reported every minute. Teh community's contributions help to make the software less buggy and more robust.

So if you are a developer or someone looking for an ecommerce platform that's affordable, go check out Drupal as it's free. You just need to be a registered member to download the software.
