President Arroyo hangs out in Second Life

One of my best buds and fellow gamer, Gabby Dizon, co-owner and head honcho of FlipSide Games (a local game development company), made the news again recently because he was asked to create online avatars of President GMA and other notable IT personalities for the Philippine National Innovation Strategy in the National Innovation Summit in Makati.

Here's an excerpt from the Inquirer.net Tech News story.

Arroyo activated her virtual self called an "avatar" in the Second Life online video game and community as part of the launch of the Philippine National Innovation Strategy in the National Innovation Summit in Makati.

Her virtual likeness will sit in the virtual IBM Innovation Center which is also in Second Life.

Arroyo's Second Life avatar is joined by those of Department of Science and Technology Secretary Estrella Alabastro and IBM Executive Vice President for Innovation and Technology Nick Donofrio. The three avatars were created by Gabby Dizon, president of game developer Flipside Games, under the direction of IBM Philippines which is one of the sponsors of the Innovation Summit.

Pretty cool, huh? Now, when are they going to put Jollibee in there? ^_^

OMG! LMAO. Awesome. President Arroyo on Second Life?! I didn't recognize her in the picture, but the mole bought it. Hey! Hopefully, there'll be more filipino stuff over there! Jollibee sounds great ;)
