Motorola R2D2
Oct 30, 2009 10:52Did you see this?

The word DROID is used under license from Lucasfilm. What a difference an ALPHABET makes. Well done, George Lucas.
But given the license, Motorola should have:
- Released a limited-edition phone with R2D2 livery for Star Wars geeks (re: All male baby boomers).
- Sent out R2D2 toys to the media (done, see: http://www.androidauthority.com/index.php/2009/10/21/verizon-seems-serious-about-the-motorola-droid-sends-out-r2d2-toys-to-the-media/).
- Call the limited-edition Moto Droid a "local region limited, non-mobile general-purpose familiar-class communications Astromech".
- Released skins to add R2D2 livery to the people who didn't manage to get the 2,000 sets of limited-edition Astromech Moto Droids.
- Released an attachment to the Motorola Droid to holographically project Princess Leia for Moto Droid owners, preferably the scene where she has to dance for Jabba, like this one:

- Someone please release this R2D2 translator to the Android market: http://www.r2d2translator.com/.
- Ringtones!!!!!
(Do I have to pay license to Lucasfilm for using the word "Droid" in the article, editor? Please check with CNETt legal, will ya? I think those morons have enough cash from Motorola already. I don't want to add to that pot.)
