Street Fighter 4: Running out of people to pummel
Jun 30, 2009 15:17
Check out the Street Fighter 4 for PC release dates here.
I've been on Street Fighter 4 for the PS3 ever since it was released a couple of months back. After getting to be the top 10K in the world on the championship ladder, I've reached the stage where the people I can pummel, I can pummel easily, and the people whom I can't, pummel me easily.
There're a lot of people who refuse to buy a PS3, whom I want to pummel. And it's two days away: Street Fighter 4 for the PC will be released. I can still use the Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 Special Addition for PS3 (wotta mouthful!) on the PC, so all I have to do is get that game, a new 42-inch full-HD TV in front of my computer, and I'm in business.
The benchmark for the game is out and you can download here. It can be run on pretty old machines, but if you want ultimate quality you still need up-to-date equipment such as the ATI 4870 or the Nvidia GTX280 cards at least. Yes, it looks fabulous on the PC, better than any of the console iterations. And, hopefully, we can make the PC version cross platform-compatible, which'll give me more PS3 and Xbox 360 victims, and I'll pummel them to the ground until they learn how to play better, that is.
A tip for would-be buyers: There was a four-month waiting time for joysticks when the console versions were released. Joysticks never saw better business, and the same thing is gonna happen in two days' time. So you better buy your joystick today. I still see some around Sim Lim Square and some console shops such as Seow Choon (SC Games). Don't wait, you can't pwn using gamepads unless you're (really) an SF4 king, and Chun Li, Blankas and Honda players would probably need a turbo button to do slightly better.
We're probably gonna see slightly better sales for large-screen LCD panels, graphics cards, and probably some small-form-factor motherboards for the people who would rather make a new PC next to their HDTV instead of buying a new 42-inch HDTV. Yes, the game looks that good.
And you're not gonna quit playing. This game is the closest thing to sports on any platform, an even playing ground with almost perfectly balanced characters, so many new moves and room for creative pummeling. Best of all, there's no gore, so you can play with your four-year-old watching.

I've played this game enough.
Now waiting for King of Fighter. By the way are you fan of King of Fighters?

Nope. Never played it seriously. I find that SF4 is simple on the surface but what matters is what you do with the simple tools at the critical juncture.

That's surprising, King of Fighter is the biggest rival of street fighter series. There was also several cross over games where you can choose players from both SNK and Capcom series. Gameplay is very similar to street fighter.
