Diablo 3 announced

I have played Diablo since the beginning, and even when the game was hacked hollow and screwed around with by hackers, I continued to play it. In Diablo II I think I must have farmed Memphisto a thousand times or more, and it was still good. I was disappointed that Blizzard, years ago, announced World of Warcraft instead of Diablo. Then shattered when Hellgate London, touted to be like World of Diablo, sucked so much for me.

Now, I feel good again after reading the announcement of Diablo III in Gizmodo UK.

Now, I would never consider playing any of these games on a console. These are sit-forward games (like working on an Excel spreadsheet), not racing seat games or sit-back games. They're serious work! So, rightly, there're no plans to release them for any console, though I secretly hope for a Wii controller to be released for the PC so I can do 5 minutes of hackslash with the Wiimote.

Happiest of all are Nvidia and ATI, and probably Intel, which are doubtlessly hoping for this game to require a mandatory major upgrade to play in its full glory. Worry not Blizzard. Just for you, millions of minions around the world would gladly fork out cash for one or two graphics cards running in SLI or Crossfire, and possibly a few more gigabytes of RAM and a Blu-ray drive, and let's not forget a quadcore from Intel.

Take a look at the videos below. They get my juices flowing, seriously, I'm not ashamed to admit it. Best of all, I played Diablo II on a 17-inch monitor and some primitive 3D card, but today, I have a 24-inch LG ultra-contrast LCD with higher-than-HD resolution, and an Nvidia 9800GTX Super 3D card, and I can drop in another one if there is a need. So, Blizzard, just max out the eye candy and we have the power to render it.
