Malaysia's first cycle of technology
Sep 5, 2009 10:06
The age of tech gadgets started somewhat about 10 years back. Goes without saying that tech has always been there, from the earliest digital calculator watch Casio Databank or even the first LED calculator. (Yes, I have collected an LED calculator.) I'm sure every tech geek will love to collect examples of pristine tech. I consider the PDA to be one of the techie toys of this decade.
I was looking through the local "eBay" and there are some nice PDAs for sale already. Besides PDAs, it seems this is a good time to get some early gadgets. Gadgets which are still in "vogue", still useful. Besides those, there are many collector items up for grabs, most in pristine condition. I just got an old Motorola external modem "Surfer" model. Excellent collector's item.
For some reason, there seems to be a tidal wave of techie gadgets going for sale in Malaysia. Probably attributed to Malaysia's first cycle of technology. (Yes, I just invented that phrase.) Previously newer tech has now become old, and has finally gone into the hands of the Internet-savvy eBay/lelong generation. We see more and more early tech going for sale. What Daddy bought for a pricey cost has gone just slightly obsolete and dropped into the hands of the children. Children have taken the opportunity to barter Daddy's and Mummy's old toys for just a little cash--just to get the latest iPhone. Makes sense, doesn't it.
Well, whatever it is, now's the time for me to get that gadget I always wanted. In this case, I've put in my bid for the HP iPaq 4700, the most powderful, largest-screened PDA ever!
