Sony recalls VAIO AC power adapters
Oct 29, 2009 08:59Sony recently announced that it is recalling some 69,000 Vaoi AC power adapters after receiving reports of units short-circuiting, which could pose an electrical shock hazard to Vaio owners.
The exact AC adapter being recalled is the Sony VGP-AC19V17 being used with the company's all-in-one Vaio desktops (VGC-LT and VGC-JS2 series), and Vaio docking stations (models VGP-PRBX1 and VGP-PRFE1.
Check your power adapters and, if it happens to be a VGP-AC19V17 adapter, it is recommended that you stop using it and contact Sony for a free replacement immediately.
Better safe than sorry.
