From Globe Duo to SuperDuo
Oct 15, 2009 19:53Globe Telecom recently announced its new offering called SuperDuo, which now includes unlimited calls to mobile subscribers using Globe and Touch Mobile. To subscribe to the new offering, one should unsubscribe from Duo first and then subscribe to SuperDuo.
According to a Globe SMS advisory, SuperDuo will cost a subscriber 499 pesos for 30 days.
For an additional 49 pesos a month from Duo's 450 pesos, which offers only unlimited landline calls, I would say this is a good deal, although I find the additional 49 pesos a bit low. There must be some mistake with the SMS advisory. Unlimited mobile calls for an additional 49 pesos from Duo's 450? Well, who am I to complain? All I can say is thank you.
I just have one concern with the new offering. Is the network ready for the big traffic due to unlimited landline and mobile calls?
I remember when SunCellular offered unlimited calls, and Globe and Smart Communications said they could not do the same since it would clog up their network and quality of service would suffer.
A network that will serve both unlimited landline calls and mobile calls? I do hope the quality of the service will not suffer. If not, SuperDuo subscribers might suffer SuperWoes.
What's the use of an unlimited offering if you can't use it due to unavailable network access?
God bless us all!
