Is Apple afraid of Windows 7?
Sep 3, 2009 23:45Is Apple with its newly launched OS, the Snow Leopard, afraid of Windows 7? In case you're wondering why I am asking this question, the answer is simple: Apple was here in the Philippines a couple of days ago to launch Snow Leopard. Instead of concentrating on showing the features of its new OS, Apple officials wasted valuable time bashing Microsoft Windows 7.
Now, why would Apple do such a thing? We all know the Cupertino company already came out with its ad (Bake Sale) doing the same thing--bashing the Microsoft Windows campaign. Is it because the company is afraid of what Windows 7 will do or can do?
I can't help but wonder why Apple is bashing Windows 7 when most observers are singing praises of the upcoming OS of Microsoft. There's no way to go but up for Microsoft after Vista.
The Apple guys who came to Manila to present Snow Leopard took the liberty of taking pot shots at Microsoft, to the delight of the crowd. What was ironic is that most of the people in the crowd are Microsoft users.
It is a business rule that you never speak ill of your competitors. This is the lowest and poorest way of selling your product. Just concentrate on your product's strength and let the buying public discover the weaknesses of your competitor. That's professionalism and etiquette if you ask me.
God bless us all!

I don't think Apple is afraid of Windows... they know exactly how to fight and win in the market... Apple is more afraid of Google... Microsoft itself is more afraid of Google...

If only you attended the event, you will be more objective of your post. You write as if you were there. If you didn't listen to hearsay, you will know that Apple officials during the didn't just gave their pronouncements based on humors. It's quite understandable of your Windows ass-licking-praising-promoting attitude because I saw it in the posters.

This post is not based on first hand information. Maybe Mr. Liao just heard it from someone and went on to assume this and that. The blogger should have been honest enough to say that he was not actually in the event when Apple "bashed" Windows. This is something CNET now does seemingly as standard operating procedure, allowing blogs like Infochat to be its blunder.

"Most observers are singing praises of the upcoming OS of Microsoft." What a ridiculous statement coming from a journalist. Is this a paid Microsoft blog?.
