First iCore7-powered iCafe in Southeast Asia launched

The country’s leading computer providers Acer, Microsoft, Intel and VillMan Computers have teamed up to open the country's first high-end Gaming Zone. Located at the SM Cyberzone North Edsa, all 40 Acer computers are powered by Intel Core i7 and running Windows 7 RC1.

Not only is this the first in the country, it is also the first iCore7-powered iCafe in the whole of Southeast Asia.

If you visit the VillMan Gaming lounge, you will find 40 Acer Aspire M7720 PCs with the following configuration: 23-inch Full HD Acer LCD monitors, Acer speakers, Logitech headsets and Webcams, Intel Core i7 processor, 2.66GHz with 8MB L2 cache, 1066 FSB and Intel X58 chipset, ATI Radeon HD 4870 video card, 512MB P DVI/DVI/TVO ATX, two sets of 2GB DDR3 1,066MHz SDRAM, 640GB SATAII 7200 RPM, Super-Multi DVD-RW with Labelflash technology, high-definition audio with 7.1-channel surround sound support. Now that's power.

The lounge also has three broadband lines provided by PLDT MyDSL. Cisco was also tapped for router and switching equipment in networking the PCs. All PCs are connected to another powerful Acer machine serving as its backend server, the Acer Predator Aspire G7710.

The fees are very affordable considering the machines being offered--it's only 50 pesos per hour or less than a US dollar. The cafe will even provide some student discounts and others.

I have been there three times and there's only one word to describe the experience--AMAZING.

God bless us all!
