Hayden Kho and Katrina Halili video spreads like wildfire online

If you're a Netizen, then maybe you have seen the much talked about sex video of Dr Hayden Kho Jr and actress Katrina Halili. OK, I have to admit, I have seen it not once, but twice (sounds familiar?).

The said video was the reason the relationship of Kho and Dra. Vicki Belo ended. But you know how love works--Kho and Belo are back in each other's arms again. A case of "love conquers all" thing?

Anyway, the first video of Kho and Halili has been uploaded online and it seems harmless since both of them are simply dancing to the tune of Careless Whisper. The second one to me is also harmless since Halili is seen dancing with "glowing balls", this time to the tune of Beautiful Girl.

The next series of videos are below the line since the two are seen in some compromising situations. The other videos showing Kho with other ladies are... I will just leave it to your imagination, or should I say I will just leave it to your resourcefulness. No matter what the relationship is, the rule is--what happens inside the bedroom, should stay inside the bedroom.

The video is spreading like wildfire online and the pirates are having a field day selling a CD copy of the downloaded videos. I tell you, they are selling like HOT cakes.

But more than the videos are the pirated CDs. We must now think what a monster we have created in a technology called the Internet. The word SECRET no longer exists on the Web. Post something on the Net and it will be all over cyberspace--which is the very nature of the Web really. Everything is public, and the way it spreads is unimaginable. Faster than any virus known to men.

Again, I maintain that the Internet is amoral--it is neither good, nor bad. What makes it good or bad is how we use it. Think about it.

So who do we blame for the video? Kho, Halili or the Internet? Let me just say that it takes two to tango.

God bless us all!

The article you wrote is so far the best I have read regarding this issue. I like what you said of internet to be "amoral". Indeed, to rephrase the opening words of the Tale of Two Cities, "It's the best of times, it's the worst of times." Part of being human is to bear the consequences of one's actions and not to put blame on others. Each person playing a lead role in this media psychodrama must look within and take a good look at what's its really about. For me the moral is when one plays with fire one gets burned, when one plays with lust one gets lust rewards. Also this is not just a social phenomenon. It is time to reexamine our true values as human persons, as men and women of faith, as Filipinos. What a tragedy in a country that professes a Christian faith to become a country of hidden sex addicts and sex perverts.

I saw the full video of Hayden and Katrina scandal downloaded by my special friend...it was found so nice romance but the big mistake was it was spread all over it seems of potential virus wherein they do nasty actions, immoral since that kind of doings are supposedly exclusive for the couple. Now, that everything was revealed, i felt tha Katrina showing "plastican". Infact the scandal was done with all their good faith and with a freewill. Bakit si Katrina paiyak-iyak at sinabing "binababoy" sya? siguro nga binaboy dahil ipinakita sa publico. As i can see the video they are both happy in doing it. But infairness they are good on having sex dami ko rin na tutunan as married person.

this scandal will fade in a few months from now. justice for all those involved in this case :(

@samccloud: Thank you. It's a tragedy indeed, and a pity to all the victims of sex video scandals.

@spy: If they have the guts to create the video, they should do everything to protect it from spreading. They have to protect it with their life.

@awatiro: Yup. Justice should be served to all guilty parties.

samccloud says...
Yes, I agree that the nature of the scandal is that it is only temporary as long as it remains a strong contender among all the other issues to come out. There is a Filipino commonfolk proverb relating to this, "walang baho na di lalabas ang amoy". It will be very interesting to see how each victim or procursor face up responsibly to face what justice is in store for each of them.

am just wandering why they only blame or condemned Hayden for what happnened especially Katrina which was so clear on the video that she was the willing participating party and am sure she knows whats going on at that time now that the video is out she said na"binababoy" sya

i agree with jerry so u cant just blame the other party

I also agree with you and jerry miles. I am not pointing out only to Hayden. I have seen the videos myself and indeed both were active partners. However the issue is not during that act when it happened. The issue now is the way the video is circulated like wildfire online and on the streets wherein certain tenets of the law regarding privacy, respect for women, faithfulness in marriage are broken.

@samccloud: If there is no source, then people will have nothing to distribute. I am no lawyer but who's copyright did we infringe here? Was the video registered? Did we violate the rights of Hayden for creating the video? There are a lot of gray areas here. I may be wrong but I think this is more of a moral issue than a legal issue. Thanks Sam.

samccloud says...
Thanks for the follow comment Jerry. I think the Senate Committee hearing set on Thursday will give more light to the gray areas in this case. Almost all the players will be there except Maricar whom I heard is now out of the country and somewhere over here in the U.S. The following is the series of events that I got from my personal browsing in the internet about the issue: 1) Hayden Kho recorded the video just for fun and as he said like having a diary, 2) Hayden Kho recorded it as a private collection, 3) Eric Chua got hold of some of those videos, 4) Hayden and Eric got into some fraternity internal feud and Eric mentioned the videos to Vicky Belo, 5) Vicky Belo got mad and has a love quarrel with Hayden Kho, 6) After a while they got back to each other again and Eric Chua got angry and released the videos. So, it is a classic human drama of deception, manipulation, jealousy, hitting back, business venture, etc. I don't think there is a copyright in the video since it is a private take and not intended for circulation. I am not a lawyer too, so I look forward to learn more how the lawyers be able to sort out the case and bring justice for all.

With the lengthy last comment of samcloud - one word summarized it - " Afuang "

mumin says...
Why are they just blaming Erik Chua for spreading these videos? Hayden did give copies to his frat buddies long before it went out in the net for everyone to see. Maybe Hayden doesn't know it yet but the videos has long been circulating within their fraternity so anyone there can be a suspect. It's actualy the reason why Vicky Belo broke up with him and that happened way before any of these bacame a big time scandal now.

It's really Hayden who is the main person guilty here. Guilty of being the first person of spreading all of these material to others. He's a sick pervert; an sex exhibitionist whose way of affirming his manhood is by bragging about his sexual acts. What a sick, disgusting dude...tsktsk. He truly must be punished for what he did.

The thing with his drug addiction/possesion can have a seperate trial 'cause it's not the issue here. It's all about his sick sexual behavior.

samccloud says...
Thanks for the humor of the issue Jake and thanks for adding light to the imbedded secrets behind the spread of the sex videos mumin. The morality of human acts is that they must be done in full knowledge, complete freedom and they must be completely acted upon with sense of responsibilty for the consequences. Hayden's words about Katrina inducing him with ecstacy is just one of the many well rehearsed justifications he got from his lawyer. I agree with the perversion and sick thinking of Hayden. Just count how many sex videos he produced! With Katrina to be blamed as being popularized after the senate hearing, we can go back to that scene in the new testament of people condemning an adulterous woman before Jesus. Are we casting the first stone or not? In this world, is there anyone who does not have a secret dark closet? As Katrina said, "I am an actress, I am the fantasy of the nation...but I am also entitled to my own privacy!" Well said! These are just random thoughts I got for today. Thanks!

I'm following the events and the news, and I'm deeply saddened for this tragedy. I intentionally did not watch the video, even for curiosity. I feel sorry for all the victims. I myself don't want to pass judgment on any one of them. I hope both will get a fair trial. And I hope it will be in the appropriate venue, not in the senate, for all of us know that nothing will move from there. Politicians will just ride in the popularity of this tragedy.

I am saddened because of what our culture has become. This nation is so-influenced already by what can be seen in the internet, and its for free. My friend told me before that there's even a site for pinoy scandals, and these video were taken by handycam or mobile phone phones only. There is really a decline in morality standards, not only in our beloved country, but in the world as well.

Anyway, as concerned Christian, let us do our share in the moral recovery of our nation. Let's re-teach our youth about the values that is being taught by the word of God. May our respective families do their share in educating our nation.

May God really bless us all. Amen!

I am sincerely grateful for your wise and kind comments on the prevailing issue. Like you I am also deeply saddened and very much into discernment to hear what is God speaking to all of us Filipinos and world citizens alike since the exposure of this kind of video over the internet and pirated cd media. Yes, it is high time to be awake and check on the conscience of the nation and the world and to take responsibility in defending, teaching and strengthening our christian moral values as we join hands to work for healing and recovery of our moral fiber both as individuals and as a country. This is and could be a new revolution we are off to engage together. Thanks again and God bless us all with courage to change the things we can.

This is Mike Hirama: a founder of Hayden Kho Jr. Support Group on Yahoo Groups. I started out this group in my political protest against overreaction on the Philippines over the incident involving Dr. Kho, Jr. with good faith that what Dr. Kho, Jr. was going through was far more than his misdeeds could ever justify, and I felt that someone had to speak up and deliver positive messages.

Our support group consists of approximately 50 members on Yahoo site, and another 50 or so on facebook. We operate on 3 basic fundamental values of compassion, love and forgiveness; which we believe the Philippines have long forgotten and which we all need to once again realize.

Currently we have 4 websites related to our group; and on behalf of the support group members, we would like to kindly inform you of the URLs to those websites.

groups.yahoo.com...
www.facebook.com...
haydenkhosupport.weebly.com
www.wix.com...

We operate on a simple concept. Every group member does what he or she can. As each individual, each one of us may be a small one against so many, but as a whole, we are still making a solid positive statement towards the Filipinos and support for Dr. Kho, Jr. We have launched programs like Sweep Project No. 1, which is about deletion of videos from video sharing websites. We are making progress.

I just wanted to share our activities with you.

Best Wishes,

Mike Hirama
