Samsung launches second 8MP camera phone with Pixon

Move over Samsung Omnia and Innov8, here comes a new touchscreen 8MP camera phone from Samsung as well - the Samsung M8800 Pixon.

Prior to the announcement of the phone, I was already asking the people from Samsung Philippines why introduce a phone like the Pixon which may affect the sales of the recently release Omnia and Innov8.

I got no answer since Pixon is still not available here in the Philippines.


The phone combines the functionality of both Omina and Innov8. The Pixon is a touchscreen phone like the Omina that comes with an 8MP camera just like Innov8.

Is this a good strategy for Samsung? Time will tell.

If am not mistaken, this will be Samsung's answer to LG KC-910 Renoir. A smartphone with a nice camera in one. Talk about convergence.
