Epson Philippines launches new printers and new projector

Despite the continuous rise of prices of basic commodities, the technology industry has been very active and busy these past few weeks. I have been attending press conferences left and right where companies are showing off their latest products. I just came from a press conference hosted by Epson Philippines where Epson Philippines has launched a new range of business printers designed to deliver high-reliability, high-volume printing in full color at an exceptionally low cost per page, plus an ultra-short focus projector.

Epson Business Inkjet B500DN

Enjoy remarkably low daily operational costs and impressive long-term savings with the printing efficiency of the B500DN as it offers quality inkjet color prints that cost less than one-quarter the conventional color printers--even less expensive than black-and-white laser printing! The B500DN comfortably outperforms conventional color laser and business inkjet printers, making them the ideal choice for low-cost, high-volume printing.

The B500DN comes standard with Ethernet TCP/IP 10/100 Base-T ports and duplex printing capability. Enjoy greater ease and convenience with network printing made easy, and save time and paper with effortless double-sided printing.

Epson AcuLaser M2010DN

The Epson AcuLaser M2010DN monochrome laser printer features high printing speeds and requires zero maintenance. Its compact design also means it will sit comfortably on most office desktops.

The Epson AcuLaser M2010D/DN printers are completely maintenance-free. Aside from the toner, there are absolutely no parts to be replaced. The EnergyStar-compliant printers are also backed with energy-saving features such as fuser power-off immediately after printing to minimize overall energy consumption.

With duplex (double-sided printing) as standard feature for both models, users can expect less paper usage.

During the event, they actually showed a demonstration on how fast their printers could perform. They even pitted the printers against another brand and the result was amazing. The print time difference was about a minute for printing the same number of pages in full color.

Epson EMP400W projector

The Epson EMP400W projector allows big-screen presentations even with a short projection distance. Enjoy multimedia at its best, give presentations without shadows and improve interaction with your audience.

The Epson EMP400W projector is designed and produced in compliance with Epson's environmental standards. It allows you to display on a screen of up to 110 inches and consumes much less power than large flat-panel televisions. That means you can save both energy and costs. The Epson EMP400W projector also boasts improved lamp life, a sleep timer function, paint-free design and recyclable packaging.

The advantage of this projector is if you have a small room and you need to do presentations. Even if you position the projector around 7ft away from the projector, it will still project around 110 inches. The scenario would be your projector behind you while you stay in front to do your presentation. No shadow, right?

I told the Epson Philippines guys, especially its president Hideto Nakamura, that I would not be surprised if in the near future I see a projector that comes with a switch--one to turn the projector to a conventional one, and one that will turn it to a short-distance projector. An idea that Epson can seriously consider.
