Best deals for mobile phones and gadgets in Hong Kong

For those who crave the newest, hippest gadgets (especially mobile phones), they all know Hong Kong is the hub for the newest releases and sometimes even weeks before they are launched in the US or in Europe.

Back in July last year, I made a short video on how to get to Sincere Podium, the mobile phone hub in Hong Kong, and blogged about it here on CNET Asia. Today, I'm gonna blog on another useful site which updates all the latest gadget prices and availabilities in Hong Kong.

Price.com.hk is a Chinese site (well, I wrote to them and suggested that they add in an English version, but since most of the product names are in English, readers can still get a hang of the latest price) which lists all the gadgets' latest prices and availabilities in Hong Kong for both imports (cheaper with no local waranties, sometimes with worldwide warranties, depends on items) and local retail versions. The gadget list spans from digital cameras to dSLRs, DV camcorders, PDAs, monitors, LCD TVs, game consoles, notebooks and all sorts of other computer-related products.

Take the latest HTC Touch HD (click link to see the product page). The site lists out the best deal for both imports and local versions, plus the best contract price with the service providers. Prices range from HK$5,300 (US$680) to HK$6,880 (US$882, the official list price).

For those coming in to Hong Kong on their next trip, check out the site for the latest bargains and I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Alternatively, you can also use the price to benchmark those that are offered in your country.

Hope you all find this useful.

Thanks for the truly useful tip. Didn't know sites like price.com.hk existed beforehand. Will surely check it out next time before making the same mistake of overpaying for a Canon G10 like I did a few weeks ago. Cheers!
