Barnes & Noble's fun e-book reader device
Oct 23, 2009 14:48
Exciting news! Barnes & Noble has launched a new e-book reader called Nook.
Is it a Kindle killer? I don't think so. Personally, I think there's plenty of space for more brands of e-book readers in the market. Saying that it's a Kindle killer is like saying that the Apple iPhone is a Nokia killer, when in truth, there's enough room for both (and more other brands) to coexist.
If anything, the Nook might apply pressure for Amazon to improve the Kindle to make it a premium device, or bring the price down.
Take a look at the Nook.
Some of its key features:
- E Ink Vizplex display for better reading experience
- Color touchscreen for the bottom navigation bar
- Wi-Fi-enabled
- Can lend e-books to friends who have similar devices such as iPhone, BlackBerry, Motorola handset
- Syncs with your iPhone, BlackBerry, Motorola to download your half-read book, including annotations and bookmarks
- Over 1 million titles already available
- 2GB internal memory and expandable microSD slot
- micro-USB port
- Earphones enabled for listening to audiobooks and podcasts
Hurrah!

Hi Sepanta, an ebook reader can store many books in one device and is more environmentally-friendly.
I'm going for ebook readers. :)

Sad to say Malaysia is losing a golden opportunity to produce a similar e-book several years ago when MavCap injected several million into a local e-book design project. As I have explained in another post, they got the wrong e-book idea from the beginning.

I love to read, i have around 750 novels , not mention magazine and other books, i have problem now to build the next books rack for around 200 novels which my existing racks can hold them anymore, its cost alot of money to make floor to ceiling book shelf , e-book will be my next choice , i heard it can handle more then 1000 books . i love nook and will stop purchasing paper book as soon as nook available in region.

Yea Hillary , I Know About Ebook . But Apparently In This Time We Need A Lcd Display For Everything & I Cant Guess If 1 Day We Cant Have These Paneles What Will Happened For Us ?
In Fact , Now If Just 1 Day I Cant Use 1 Of My Favorite Systems , I Have Many Problem .
Then I Prefer Dont Add Systems Such This To Mine .
However Agree With You , Its Environmentally Friendly And Its A Good Point For NOOK .
