Get the digital version of your favorite magazines
Jul 7, 2009 16:19Last year, Jesada of Technology Thailand alerted us to this deal--Read the digital version of your favorite magazines online for free or up to 90 percent off the newstand price. There are more than 800 titles available, including Men's Health, PC World, National Geographic, Digital Photography Techniques, Harvard Business Review, Car & Driver, Cosmopolitan, etc.
Since then, I have found it so convenient to be able to read these magazines wherever I am as long as I have a laptop with me. I could really spend hours and hours browsing beautifully produced downloaded magazines.
My sister-in-law who is expecting a child has used this to subscribe to BabyTalk, a US magazine that's not usually available here. According to Zinio, its bestselling issue ever is the PopSci Genius Guide to Home Entertainment.

Some of the magazines available are provided free, some are ultra affordable, and some cost a little more. Most importantly, all these magazines do not need to be printed so you can read to your heart's content without risking the life of any trees. Bliss!
Much thanks to Jesada for alerting us to this.

There's something more convientant about reading a paper copy then electronic one.
Then again 90% off sounds good.

No doubt we're used to paper mags, but it's hard to resist the incredible savings of these digital mags. I didn't know saving the environment can be cheap too!
Thanks Hillary and Jesada for the tip.

:) Very much so Jesada. I've received many issues of magazines since you brought it to our attention.

this is brilliant, reduce paper waste and cheaper too. i also agree it's not as convenient as carrying a magazine around but we'll soon get around that.
i'm waiting for the day when digital paper comes out. Something like this www.youtube.com... but in color. OLED is still too expensive but a magazine on this material will be super: www.youtube.com...

Btw, the site does not have the National Geographic magazine. You must be referring to NZ Geographic. Makes me wonder if an organization like National Geographic who promotes a greener earth still prints their magazine on paper.
Jul 21, 2009 03:43
If I remember correctly, the National Geographic magazine is printed on recycled paper.

would be even better to see it in digital form. reduce the carbon footprint.

Yeah. Nothing beats digital mags babe. I'm loving this site.
