Dell and Canon go planting to offset your carbon footprint
Oct 17, 2008 14:05I was surfing the Dell US Web site and customizing a dream laptop for fun when I came to this page. Before checking out the item in your shopping cart, you can opt to pay a few more dollars to plant a tree that will offset your carbon footprint! How cool is that?

This service is not available at the Dell Asia Pacific Web site, but I am hopeful that will be soon. Tomorrow (Saturday), Dell will be at Cyberjaya to commemorate the first Dell Forest project in Malaysia. A plot of land has been allocated by Cyberview Sdn Bhd, the landowner and developer of Cyberjaya, for Dell to plant trees on.
Meanwhile, remember the Canon Goes Green project? This is where all you have to do is submit photos and Canon will plant trees for you. About 2,500 photos have been submitted, so that's 2,500 trees to plant! Do join Canon this Sunday, 7.30am, at Kota Damansara to help with the planting, if you're feeling environmentally in tune with the planet. Looks like this is going to be a very fun and green-filled weekend. Have a good one.
