My Dad's Vista dilemma

My father is the proud new owner of a Dell XPS M1530 laptop! After two weeks of twiddling with it, I asked:

"So Dad, what do you think of your new Dell?"

He said: "Oh, it is very powerful. But..."

"But?"

Jeng! Jeng! Jeng!

"But... the Vista is not compatible with my printers, scanner, etcetera."

Oh dear! I realized too late that I had forgotten to warn my Dad that this would happen. Most of my Dad's accessories are still in pristine condition. If I'm right, his laser printer is less than six months old. Is there any hack that can help Vista read these machines, or must he purchase all his office equipment all over again?

Give him your old hardware since it is proven to be compatible, in exchange for his new XPS. Win-Win situation in my opinion.

Its unlikely that a six month old piece of hardware is not compatible when Vista has been on the market for a year.

If your automatic updates cannot find the drivers, go to your manufacturers web and look there. if that fails then make sure that you have upgraded to SP1 - many drivers will be added in that release.

Doublej, the hardware was bought six months ago, but has been on the supermarket shelf for longer than that. Thanks for the tip.
