New media marketing lesson from Mortimer, the Traveling Bear

I'm sure there isn't any active Facebook user who hasn't met Mortimer. Mortimer's Web 2.0 goal is really simple. All he wants is to travel around
the Facebook world and get to know more people.

Mortimer endeared himself to Facebook users so much that they let him stay on their Facebook wall. They even helped him find accommodation on their friends' walls. You can be assured that through his journeys, Mortimer never once needed to spend a night on a park bench.

By now, Mortimer is so hugely successful in his quest that others have started to feel jealous. Mortimer is now the target of an open assassination request with a dedicated Facebook cause, Death to Mortimer.

Mortimer is also being exploited by greedy merchandisers.

With these death threats, Web 2.0 has been especially challenging for the bear compared with the rest of us. However, Mortimer is surviving these challenges because he's doing all the right things to brand himself on new media.

There is much about new media marketing that we can learn from Mortimer.

(Apologies to my friends in China who will not be able to view this video and learn from Mortimer)Update
