Here's your ticket to the digital Woodstock

The world's largest digital festival, which some dub as the "digital Woodstock", Dreamhack, is starting to roll into town. The show that holds three Guiness World Records for largest B.Y.O.C. LAN parties, reaches out to more than 200,000 Swedes over the period of a year. It even featured an airshow in the winter of 2008, and is holding a Southeast Asian qualifiers in Singapore.

The Southeast Asian champs of Counterstrike 1.6 and Street Fighter IV on October 24-25 at the Colosseum (Illuma) will be able to go to Sweden and experience the hack fest of your life, from gaming to overclocking, digital animation creation, crazy parties, and all sorts of stuff that a geek will get high on. Besides representing Southeast Asia (and hopefully Singapore) to fight for honor and glory, of course.

Who knows, you may even be able to catch the real-life Batmobile when you are in Sweden! The Swedes are turning out to be some crazy hackers, indeed.

I think this is just the beginning of Dreamhack's foray into Asia as it is also one of the official sponsors of the World Expo in Shanghai 2010. A little bird told this geek that big plans are in store for the island-state as well. Watch out, Singapore, the Swedish hackers are rolling into town!
