Lenovo Netbook--a good thing getting better!

I was given a chance to play with Lenovo's Netbook, the Ideapad S10, some time back. This product was pretty innovative coming from a company more commonly associated with its popular ThinkPads.

I liked the S10 for its sleek design, nice keyboard (which is really important to this geek), and overall impressive build. Little wonder that it got the big thumbs up from so many folks, especially Wired magazine. There were some issues with the battery life, but Lenovo quickly updated this to a six-cell li-ion battery. A company that takes customer feedback pretty seriously, I'd say.

So imagine this geek's excitement to hear about the upcoming S10-2. Apparently, I'm not the only one excited. Even though I have yet to lay my hands on a review unit, I'm excited to hear that it will be thinner and lighter than the original, starting at 1kg and 18mm thickness. There's a new patterned design on the lids, available in white, black, pink and gray.

According to CNET Crave, the most notable improvement will likely be the tweaked keyboard. I think it will be launching in Singapore soon and will likely run from US$349 to US$399 (for a version with a 3G antenna built-in). Will update you if I get a better indication of the launch date and price in Singapore! Better still, after I've reviewed the unit for myself!

I dunno about you but this geek is not a fan of MSI products. Last I checked, quite a few other geeks too..
