ASUS ships Eee Box PCs with malware

I read about this on ZDNet and was totally NOT surprised because I ever surfed an ASUS Web site and my antivirus warned me of a trojan on ASUS' Web site itself.

In fact, I talked about it before, but didn't mention the name earlier:

Speaking of which, I had a Trojan trying to infiltrate my computer when I was visiting one of the top gadget device makers in Asia around
a year back! Well, obviously, I shouldn't name the company here for its reputation since it was a year back and I don't have the evidence/proof
anymore.

Now, I guess I can mention it because they've been exposed for this malware incident and it's time some companies learned about Internet security before putting all their customers at risk!

Maybe ASUS needs to buy some Internet security suites like Norton! If companies like them can be at risk and put consumers like us at risk, maybe it's time you think about your own Internet security?

Same happening appeared in some of mp3 players too in the past. Most of cases, caused during the firmware installation process. It seems PCs on production lines are not really cared with security matters since those PCs no used for interne surfing or else like normal office PCs.
