The traveling geek
Sep 18, 2008 03:04This geek will be traveling halfway around the world in the next eight days or so doing multiple stops to so many cities I don't even dare look at the price of my air tickets anymore - let me see, within the next eight days, I would have to be in Hong Kong, Indianapolis, Chicago, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Osaka and a couple of other US cities.
The thing is, time is so tight I doubt I'll actually have to sight see or shop much :( Not to mention that for some of these cities, I'll have the chance to see only the inside of their airports!
Anyway, foreseeing that a lot of time will be spent on the road, in airplanes and airports, this geek a.k.a. mobile knowledge worker or digital nomad decided to arm himself with some serious gadgets for the journey:

Lenovo managed to arrange for this highly anticipated laptop to land in my hands just (and only) for the journey. I wanted to review this unit because of its design for business usage, light weight, as well as a battery that is supposed to last for 9 hours. Perfect for the long flights and airport layovers. You'll hear me talking more about how this machine works (or doesn't work) for me and business travelers in the next few days.

The Slingers play Air 21 Express again this Sunday at 4pm. Judging from last night's match, this next match looks set to be really exciting and tense; probably a great place for photography buffs to test your photography skills!
OK, I'm off for now! Watch this space as I blog from hotels and airport terminals over the next eight days and share with you some of the gadgets I'm using for the road, including my BlackBerry Curve (cannot use in Osaka), Samsung SGH-F480 (can use in Osaka), and iPod. (And oh yeah, I should probably bring my HTC Touch Cruise along for the GPS, too.)
