New OS, Tmax Window screenshots released
Jul 5, 2009 21:28D-day is next week. July 7 will be when we see whether it's true or not. TmaxCore has released few screenshots of its Tmax Window, Web browser "Scoutor" and Tmax Office. After the screenshots were released, TmaxCore faced strong complaints, but local Netizens found errors from the images because they were definitely edited by Photoshop.
Please check out the images below that I copied from its official blog site. TmaxCore seems quite confident despite the complaints and have told us to wait till July 7.

Tmax Scoutor seems to support ActiveX

TmaxOffice Promail (Outlook)

TmaxOffice ProPoint (Powerpoint)

TmaxOffice ProWord (Word)

TmaxOffice PreCel (Excel)
Personally, I still am not sure if this is really its own OS because about 90 percent of the images and user interface are definitely benchmarked MS Windows. If you look at the TmaxOffice, it's getting annoying.
Oh, here is the fun part. TmaxCore send out an invitation to Bill Gates to attend its Tmax Window event held in Korea. Of course, Gates won't be there, so they are likely doing this to generate some kind of noise in their marketing.
I will keep you posted on the Tmax Window launch on July 7.

It does look similar to windows, unless the finanlised version changes GUI. I don't think Microsoft will ignore it.

There was no mention of Tmax Windows in their U.S. website at all. I presume they didn't want to spook Microsoft! I really hope they'll release an English version for the PC desktop platform, but I won't be holding my breath anytime soon.

About Kevin (Kilmo) Kang
Kevin (Kilmo) Kang is a self-professed IT-savvy guy who's been having the time of his life making tech deals with new business partners in the Asia-Pacific areas. Like every Korean, he's gadget-crazy and is glad he lives in a country with one of the fastest-growing tech markets in the world. His taste for international work, however, arose from a nine-year stay in New Zealand where he fortunately made more friends than there are sheep.
