What I want for Christmas? Hmm
Nov 5, 2008 00:01I haven't really thought about Santa since graduating from primary school. I just wonder what a 31-year-old guy like myself would wish for from the man in the North Pole. But here goes. In fact, I have five wishes and I've listed them below.
1. Apple's 24-inch LED Cinema Display with new MacBook Pro

This is a great Mac combo that can be used at home and at work. Apple has powerful applications and performances for the photo and graphics environment. It's also a great help during presentations with one of best application "keynotes". It's just great and always gets great feedback from users. Don't forget to get SSD instead of a harddisk drive in my MacBook Pro, Santa! Oh yes, if possible, pls throw in a 24-inch LED Cinema Display to use with my other wish item, the Dell Latitude E4200.
2. Dell Latitude E4200 notebook (SSD version)

One of the best notebooks with its performance and design based on a Windows OS platform. Sony VAIO can compete with this, but personally I like to award more points to this laptop. Dell come out with a real deal on this notebook. However, the current exchange rate is killing me and stopping me from ordering one since it costs about 1.5 times more now compared to a few months back.
3. Apple iPhone 3G 16GB White

Santa, I heard Apple has already shipped this phone to Korea and it's stocked in one of the warehouses belonging to Apple Korea or KTF (mobile network provider). They are still discussing the price of the iPhone since the major issue has been almost resolved for the Korean Government to include a Wi-Fi platform for imported foreign phones. It's been a about three months since I heard the iPhone will be released in Korea. I am just tired of rumors and believe you are the only one who can bring me the iPhone from that dark warehouse!
4. Aigo's MID

I tried a notebook, UMPC, UMPC 2nd-generation, PMPs, smart phones... what am I missing here? Yes, an MID! It seems Taiwanese PC manufacturers have the lead on MIDs. Aigo also gets products from Compal. Most MIDs take SSD or flash memory instead of the 1.8-inch HDD. And they use Linux OS for lightweight applications and lowering cost by saving on the OS license.
The only problem is that those MIDs are not available in Korea. Why? Because of Linux. The Korean Internet environment does not use ActiveX. Without it, you cannot access Internet banking or write posts on your blog. And Microsoft Windows is the only OS and platform to support ActiveX. That's why Firefox or Safari or even the Chrome browser isn't popular in Korea.
However, I noticed that the Aigo MID can now possibly upload Win XP and most of the drivers which have been developed. A 800 x 480 resolution is my only concern, but that is okay for handy Web surfing and fun outdoors on the road. Just drop me one, Santa!
5. Canon EOS 5D Mark II

This is the best dSLR camera ever, with an affordable price and supports for full-HD video recording!!!
This baby will be good enough to cover my awful photo sense with its performance in any environment. No more artifact noise or dark yellow faces of my son!!
The above five (maybe six) things are my 2008 X'mas wishlist, Santa! Are you listening and reading this? Please don't ignore my requests! If you don't have time for my gifts, please kindly send an SMS to my wife or email me about your situation so I can get monitor my X'mas wishlist!
See what the rest of the bloggers want this festive season.

oops! I forgot to reply on that. I've checked that event and, it cost me U$250+tax for entrance. Just wonder this event is worth enough to attend.
I'm happy to meet you while in Korea in other places. :)
Will send you my contact details by e-mail.
Thanks!
