Google Wave user manual released: The Complete Guide to Google Wave

People who may have been excited to play with Google Wave but who, like me, would appreciate a user guide, will be happy to know that The Complete Guide to Google Wave is now available for free online.

Google Wave is supposed to free us from our preconceived notions of communicating and collaborating with people online, but these may be difficult to shake off since we're all used to email. It's supposed to give us the freedom we need to use it as a tool in different ways, but let's be honest, sometimes we want someone to teach us how to float first instead of just pushing us into the deep end of the pool. After all, as the guide notes, Google Wave is "notoriously difficult to understand".

Note that this is an unofficial guide, as shown by this disclaimer:

This is an unofficial guide to Wave written by a community of contributors and edited by Gina Trapani with Adam Pash. This guide is not published by or affiliated with Google, Inc.--we're regular users, just like you are. (But Google Wave is a trademark of Google, Inc.)

Just as when Gmail was first launched, a lot of Internet users seem to have become obsessed with getting Google Wave since it's by invitation only for the moment. I have to thank JC Medina again for the invite I got a few weeks back, but I'll be honest with you, I haven't really explored Google Wave yet. I know this is just a preview, but I'm saying you shouldn't set yourself up for disappointment because of all the hype. I'll probably appreciate it more once I explore it, and it's great that we now have a handy guide to take with us on this journey.

Found out about the launch of The Complete Guide to Google Wave via this Mashable post, and you should also check out Mashable's earlier Google Wave Guide.

For updates, you may follow Complete Wave Guide on Twitter, and if you're on Google Wave, you could add me: joeyalarilla@googlewave.com

Are you enjoying your Google Wave experience?

No kid about Google Wave being "notoriously difficult to understand"! Can't figure out the accountability portion of the Wave and it's really confusing to navigate as it's not as seamless or as intuitive upon early use.
