Asus shows off glasses-less 3D tablet and MeeGo Netbook

Asus Eee Pad Memo

While most of the industry is still wondering if the 7-inch tablet is a viable category, Asus has gone on to differentiate the Eee Pad Memo by integrating a 3D display. Showcased at Computex 2011, instead of active shutter or passive 3D technology, the Eee Pad Memo 3D offers a glasses-free stereoscopic experience (only in landscape mode). No details on the hardware are available at this time, but the Memo 3D runs on Android Honeycomb OS and supports making phone calls using an included Bluetooth headset.

Another first in Asus' portfolio is the MeeGo-based Eee PC X101. At 17.6mm thin and weighing less than 950g, this may be the smallest and lightest 10.1-inch Netbook in town. The MeeGo platform is a collaboration between Intel and Nokia and offers an instant-on experience with strong social networking and cloud-based features. But if you are more comfortable with Windows, the Intel Atom N435-powered Eee PC X101 is also available with Windows 7 Starter Edition.
