What does 3G mean?

Aloysius Low

3G is the third-generation mobile telecommunication standard that is available on most mobile phones these days. It's much faster than 2G, as the standard requires a minimum of 0.2Mbps data rate at minimum. The original 2G has very slow speeds, though 2.5G (GPRS) has a maximum of around 0.1Mbps.

However, if speed is your concern, then a Wi-Fi network at home with a dedicated broadband plan will likely give you the best surfing speeds on your mobile device.
