If you enjoy slashing veggies with your samurai knife, you'll definitely like "Sushi Showdown".
Created by Singapore-based interactive agency, Mezmedia, the game is a polished mishmash of hilarious puns and addictive gameplay.
The aim is to "kill" the sushi before they reach your rice bowl and accumulate combos. Easy. If one hits your rice bowl, your combo tally drops to zero.
You can buy and upgrade wasabi bombs and sake cups to slow down the sushi onslaught. Some varieties of sushi are hardier than others and will require a few more taps to eliminate. At the end of every stage, you'll encounter a more challenging boss that you'll also have to tap into oblivion.
Coupled with witty slogans like "U-Don know what you're getting into" and "Do or do not, there is no fry", this is one game that will elicit laughs from anyone.
At the end of the game, you'll be familiar with the various types of sushi, like onigiri, tamago and maki. I feel like a master sushi connoisseur already.
Sushi Showdown is available from the iTunes App Store at US$0.99(S$1.20).
