Are you an inconsiderate mobile user?

Recently, a woman in Brooklyn, New York, got more than she bargained for when she asked another lady in the same queue to pipe down on the phone. What she, the victim, didn't expect was to get hit in the chest, bitten on the finger, scalded in the face by hot coffee, assaulted with a stiletto heel, and nearly a trip to the hospital. Wow.

I've met my share of inconsiderate phone users who yap away like they are shouting in a rock concert, let their handsets go off at maximum volume during a movie, or blast Canto-pop songs aloud on the handset's speakers. If asking these people to zip up will lead to a cell phone attack, I think we are in serious trouble.

Are you one of them or, if you were in my shoes, what would you do?

All we can do is to become a good role model. Let us continue being considerate cellphone users and hopefully, someone is observing us and will copy the basic phone courtesy. Although, sometimes we need to think, what if they just talk that way? loud and obnoxious? My dad talks on the phone like hes the only person there, we keep telling him to pipe down but its just the way he talks. LOUD.

I hope not ....I put my handphone on silent profile in cinemas. However, at times I may have spoken too loud unintentionally while in a noisy environment. As such, I like to give those people a benefit of doubt. If I can't shut their mouth, then I 'll shut my ears.....

I would like to think that I am not an inconsiderate mobile phone user, especially since Im mostly a texter and not too much of a talker on my mobile. People yapping away loudly on their phones in public is one thing, maybe they get carried away and forget that a hundered people can hear every bit of juicy gossip. What I truly cant understand are people who do not silence their phones in movie theaters, especially where there are so many reminders (on the theater door, as an on-screen announcement before the movie, even with a funny Kung Fu Panda short!) for them to do so. These people have no excuse for their bad behavior. What can they say, they cant read or dont understand english! Idiots! For public talkers, if I were in a particularly pissy mood and they refuse to acknowledge my plea for some volume management, Id wait for them to end their call and then talk to that person all about their phone conversation. Maybe then that person will realize that they are out in public.

well.. basic courtersy is what some people do not have, its either from their upbringing, and it really shows, trust me, you dont see some bankers blasting their techno music from their phone in the MRT do you? well that is if they take the MRT, but they do surely brag alot over the phones, no offence to the bankers

I guess there isn't much we can do... I believe many of us have encounter youths blasting their phones with their favourite techno music, that may not be to the liking of the others. Even some people do not switch their phone to vibration mode although there will be notices before the movie screening... It just boils down to common sense and basic courtesy of each individuals... Or is it lacking in the school education these days?
