Amazon planning 10-inch Kindle Fire?

With a 10-inch Fire, Amazon would go head-to-head against Apple's iPad.

Will Foxconn end up manufacturing both Apple's and Amazon's tablets?

According to the latest Digitimes report, Amazon is looking into a 10-inch Kindle Fire, purportedly to be built by Foxconn, and will ship in the second quarter. This would be a larger device than the 9-inch model previously speculated. Given Digitimes' track record when it comes to such product rumors, you should take this with a large pinch of salt.

Digitimes also quoted a Chinese newspaper story, which reported that E Ink Holdings--the company producing e-ink displays--has landed an order from Amazon for color e-book screens. Perhaps we can also expect a new color version of Amazon's popular Kindle Touch e-book reader in the near future.
