Despite the recent wave of lawsuits from Apple asserting its intellectual property rights, manufacturers remain undeterred. Leaked images of an Acer Aspire 3951 Ultrabook have been revealed by Vietnamese tech Website Sohoa and it appears to resemble the MacBook Air, from the aluminum chassis to the chiclet keyboard and the thin 12mm profile.

This 13.3-inch notebook is said to be as light as 1.4kg and if it follows Intel's Ultrabook blueprint, it should have a second-generation Core-i processor within. There will also be a 160GB solid-state drive option for instant wake from sleep mode. Battery life is expected to be around six hours. Surprisingly, most of the ports--like HDMI and USB--are located at the back instead of the sides.

With this Ultrabook, Acer looks to join Asus as one of the earlier manufacturers to release such ultraportable notebooks. The Asus UX21 was first shown at Computex, with an estimated launch in October. While one can hope that the Acer Aspire 3951 will be released around the same time, there isn't any actual launch information yet. A starting price of as low as US$800 has been hinted, but again there's been no official word from Acer.
